LIFE... A MIST

LIFE... A MIST

The wisest of the wise on what is life; you have to give it your best cause it's short and fragile
While some say it’s like a chocolate box, you never know what lies inside
Others say it’s like the waves that bring tidings to your surprise
One day you are basking under the sun with a sip of wine, in the other, you will be putting together your broken self in brine.

Ask them this question and they’ll tell you more than you can fathom
The ambitious say its aspiration, the intellect says its appreciation,
While the needy array their desperation and the downtrodden show their frustration,
The opulent make it a celebration, but no one seeks to break the chain of causation.

A million lives with gazillion opinions, if you can take control, you have mastered the ride
Own a house, own a ride, when you have much of green bills, you know you’ve reached great height
Though all of this is momentary, this is what the world calls life.

A blind eye to wickedness, a deaf ear to cries of oppression,
In pursuit of our ravenous appetite for power, we head towards a society of despotism,
Blinded by our obsession; we chose to drown in our intoxication,
Choosing the side of mammon is how our hearts learned satisfaction.

Counting all the achievements with vanity we learn to wear pride,
But what is life, it’s a mist which is here for a little while but is gone before you can realize,
So are you prepared to leave in joy, or succumb to fear,
Whether rich or poor, king or slave, none of them know that death is the greatest equalizer.

The gift of life is sacred without a doubt
Live with an eternal perspective and He will gift you the victor’s crown in front of a great crowd
Doesn't matter if you are great, doesnt matter if you are small, cause faith rests on hope and unseen conviction through Christ alone.
If you live to seek your own glory as the other greats, they still died believing this world offered the only throne
Remember, life is a mist which is here for a little while but is gone before you can realize
Seek the Almighty while there is time and you'll know what life is on the other side.

For their march of madness

For their march of madness

(The author wrote it when his father and few other Christian missionaries were ill-treated by some anti-social elements in a small town of North India.)

Sweat in small trickles
Formed around my brows
And a numbness engulfed me

They had come for us finally
My father taken away
Past shadows of uncertainty
By men chanting the name of a god
I could hear their chants, their screams
As I had before
When they had marched
When they had lynched
And showed off to the world
Their love for their nation

While they screamed
I had to wait
While my father wailed
I had to wait
All I could do
Was wait
Within an endless vacuum

And I will keep waiting
Till the country hounds come
And there is no place left to hide
And the catacombs are empty
And when my love rests only as a faint touch
I felt years ago
Then I will present myself to the patriots
For their march of madness
And if there was any justice left
In the land of my fathers
I would die faster
Faster than the last rod
That stood up to strike me

If we are available, He is able!

If we are available, He is able!

You & I are a part of a world where we all are reviewed on the basis of  the work that we do, the skills that we own and the abilities that we possess. No one gives an ear unless we manage to meet a certain standard that is defined by the world.

But with God its just the opposite. He is the only one who honors us according to our availability. If we are willing to offer our lives for His kingdom and for His purpose, no matter how unworthy, sinful or unsuitable we are, you & I are always welcome in His arms and used for His Kingdom.

In Luke 5:8-9  Peter confesses "I am a sinful man" but  Jesus accepts him and appoints him to fish for people, following which Peter and the sons of Zebedee leaves everything and follows Christ. God doesn't require us to be able or good enough to fulfill His plans through us. He only requires us to be willing to be used and be available for Him.

1 Peter 2:4 says "As you come to him, the living stone - rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him-", even though you lack skills and abilities that the world demands, YOU ARE PRECIOUS TO GOD. The scriptures clearly tell us that we are chosen by God. Now, with what criteria the Almighty God has chosen sinners like us? The only prerequisite required to be used by Him is to be available for Him (1Pet5:2).

Paul, in I Corinthians 2:1-5 explains how he lacked eloquence in his words, how he lacked human wisdom, and even in his weaknesses God enabled Paul to speak for Him. You & I may not be the wisest, may not be the most talented or the most proficient individual; we may lack fluency, wisdom, strength or confidence in us, we may be denied by many, but that's not how our Heavenly Father sees us. He looks at our willingness more than our effectiveness. If we are available, He is able.
