Are you willing to serve God?

All of us love to be appreciated for the good we do. If not wanting to be publicly acknowledged, still we feel satisfied by our effort in loving God and His people. Indeed we are saved for good works and not saved by good works. So this life in Christ is an opportunity to serve Him and glorify his name by doing his will. To be involved in the work of the Lord is the greatest privilege on earth. It might not look glamorous but it's worth it.

Joshua 6:23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.

In chapter 2 we learn that Rahab was a God fearing woman. She has learnt about the God of the Jews and had put her faith in God Yahweh. But in spite of turning away from sin, she still carried the title that was given by her past. But this did not stop her from being involved in the kingdom. She did not wait for everything to get perfect to start serving God. She realized she could hide the spies from the soldiers and that saved her life and even her family's.

Perhaps when we keep waiting for things to be perfect and then serve God, it will never be. Life is as it comes. Even to serve God we need his grace and providence. But willingness is what matters. Rahab was willing and she was blessed and became a blessing to her family and for the chosen generation. Are you willing to serve God?
