Sowing and Reaping

This week we will learn about one of the important aspects of our Christian lives i.e giving. Well don’t be turned off, it will be exciting and will lead you to a breakthrough if you would hear what the scriptures are saying. I am sure this will bless your life and those around you as well.

2 Corinthians 9:6 : The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.

Paul is writing to them about the service to the saints (verse 1). There is a need in Macedonia, and Paul is raising funds from the Church in Corinth for them. He is preparing them in advance to prepare themselves to give. Why?
2 Corinthians 9:4 - For if any of the Macedonians should come with me and find that you are not ready to give, we would be humiliated (not to mention you) by this confidence we had in you.
Law of sowing and reaping (verse 6)
Sowing and reaping is a law of nature, like the law of gravity. So is somebody jumps from the terrace of this building, he/she will go down because of the law of gravity. Similarly, sowing and reaping is a law.
When you sow one seed, you are planting a tree that bears more fruits than the tree. You can count the seeds in the apple, but you can’t count the apples in on seed.
Everybody knows this principle, including the non-believers because it is a law of nature that works.
John 3:16 - For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Even God uses this principle of sowing and reaping. He sowed His Son so He could harvest many sons and daughters.
Verse 6 - So the point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
