God bless India

J.B. Priestley once said that We should behave toward our country as women behave toward the men they love.  A loving wife will do anything for her husband except stop criticizing and trying to improve him.  We should cast the same affectionate but sharp glance at our country.

I Timothy 2:1-2 – I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

The constitution of my great land of India turns 69 today. As we celebrate Republic day in India, it's our duty to pray for our country and for all the leaders of our nation. I feel privileged to be born in this nation. Bible teaches us to pray for the country where we live and work towards the development of the same. Yes there are lot of things to be worked out and setup. We might be a land full of superstition and many other social evils. Even then I love my India. We have come a long way and for sure there's more to go if the Lord tarries. The name of India is mentioned twice in Holy Bible in the book of Esther. Let's do the best as those who live in this country and be a blessing.

Perhaps the constitution of India is one of the greatest gift to free India. The untiring efforts of Dr. B R Ambedkar and the rest of the team to draft and present the constitution is the guiding light to the nation which is full of diversity. My country can stay peaceful and in the right track only when the constitution is followed in the proper way. You and I as responsible Christians in India and all the readers of this blog are invited to bless my country with your prayers. Let the constitution be followed and the country progress. God bless India.
