Learn to say NO

Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Following Jesus is always considered a tough task. Even those in the Christendom make fun of the so called true followers of the Lord. If we see anybody with simple living and some old school ideologies, we are ready to label them as legalists and many other names.

Let’s face it, following the Lord means saying NO to so many things. And of course it means YES to the things which many don’t want. Thus, following the Lord seems to be unglamorous and not so fun. This is because our standards for fun is based on the standards of this world which always keep changing.

As a true follower of Jesus Christ, it is important to continue in our walks  by saying YES to some Church stuff and so called spiritual things. But it is even more important to say NO to things of the world which distract us from the Lord. So saying YES itself is not enough. Learn to say NO.
