Thank God for who HE IS

Ephesians 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ

I have often heard a lot of people lead in corporate prayers. It is really sad to see some pray - And I quote “Lord there is sorrow and tears in so many houses, many could not see this day, Thank you for blessing us to see this day and enjoy your blessings.”

As a matter of fact they are praying this when their fellow believer has lost  someone in their family. This is completely not done. In Paul’s writings we see a list of thanksgiving prayer. It is simply based on the work of the Lord. We need to thank God for what God has done for us. Basically it is for eternal things and for HIS grace HE showers everyday.

Several times we praise God and worship God by comparing our situations with those around. We are not expected to thank God for the sufferings of others. We may thank God for blessing us and keeping us safe but not by putting others down. Let’s Thank God for who HE IS.
