Let’s just dwell on HIM

1 Cor : 11. 27

So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

As I look back into my seminary studies, I am reminded of my very dear friend Samuel Jehovah who used to work so hard with his studies. He was an excellent student. In every class test he would be the first or the second best.  He would always encourage others to work hard as well. But when the final grade came. He missed the “A” by 1 point and we all fell in the same category. Finally I went and told him, we are all same now. He is now pursuing his higher studies and I wish him all the best.

Apostle Paul tells the Church in Corinth to partake from the Lord’s table in a worthy manner. Notice he did not say you are worthy. But asked them to behave that way. It is the work on the cross which has made us worthy. We don't need to put our labour to become worthy. We can never be. But once we have got there, we need to trust in HIS grace and give our best to stay there and grow in HIM.

It is actually a simple concept yet so profound. We were not worthy, But HE has made us worthy. Let us remain there as we dwell on HIM and grow in the Lord. So the hard work actually begins after we accept the work of Christ for us. Let’s just dwell on HIM.
